Cantor Residence Library 2006 Cambridge, Massachusetts
Completed in 2006, this two room library creates a quiet sanctuary to conduct scholarly research. The pocket doors and passage way create a "thershold" into the inner sanctum of the library, much like the grand libraries of the Victorian era. A new entry squence was created at the front door to allow a more generous mud room and bench.
All custom built cabinets are made from maple plywood and 1x stock. Cutom inlay work was done to all "rosettes" to mimic the stained glass patterns found through the spaces.
